we have more than enough food water & land on the earth to support every person in the world... its obvious, but a bad portion of everybody is lazy greedy & selfish & expects the good portion to produce provide & share. think of all the food thats wasted, water thats contaminated, & land thats controlled. its simple, match supply & demand with production & consumption then balance it with no bias. if everybody shared & took off of the table what they put on it, then there would be a good balance

@ammccarter What I am saying is that we should not carelessly add to the problem..ie: run away population growth. If we can slow down the population growth then we might be able to catch up on our food production..etc....I didn't say anything about putting people to death...Birth Control..contraceptives and education are the only humane ways of controlling poulation growth... I don't even like Abortion unless it's an Extreme emergency. The last paragraph of your response does not make sense...

Overpopulation is a myth, just use simple math:

You can put the whole worlds population into Canada, and every person (not family, but every person) would have 1000square meters as living space and you would still have a couple of thousand square kilometers left. That would leave the other continents empty!!!!!

@MyFirstConcert so ruducing the number of consumers is the solution? How do you just reduce the number of consumers? Do you assign infants jobs? "When you grow up you are going to be a farmer, otherwise you will be put to death."

If you reduce the population you will reduce BOTH the number of consumers AND the number of producers. And we will be in the SAME boat we're in right now.!

the GMO crops require a fertilizer contain to grow that a normal crop doesn't but the GMO crop will out yield the non GMO crop and turn a larger profit.

You don't have to be a Scientist...All you need to have is a little COMMON SENSE to know that OverPopulation and Food Shortage is NOT a MYTH! Just look around. We know that as the population grows, it will only lead to shortages....Even if there is food..People wont necessarily have the money to buy it...I am American and live in a small town. Even when the economy was decent, untold #s of people were already on Food Stamps..now that # has doubled or Tripled...People would be shocked!
