  • The little springy wire is a ground out wire, for the event someone breaks the glass in the pool or water penetration occures you don't get electricuted.

  • @mythril4 Thank you I had no clue. It does make sense though if you think about it.

  • I called the guys who installed my pool and they said it was still under warranty! They replaced it for free!!! YIPPEE!!!

  • Well I am trying to fix my light too. What I noticed was that you only put the gasket on the glass. When I removed mine the gasket was over the glass and the container that the bulb goes in. My problem is that my new bulb will not even turn on. I even clean all the rust of the bulb connection and still nothing. I don't want to buy the frigan set cause they told me it's at least $300.

  • I tried to put the gasket on the glass and housing it also leaked but I watched a "professional" on you tube do just the gasket on the glass. Of course he didnt put it in the pool after assembly so he maybe full of crap!

  • The spring ( ????no clue) is a resistance. When your bulb explote (sometimes happens) the spring will hit the inside metal part of the bulb. Making a ground fault and tripping the GFCI outlet feeding your light . Maybe saving somebody life. Always check your GFCI, at least once a month. Yes push the test buttom. Any questions romanampuero@hotmail.com

  • Helpful and funny too!

  • Nice video...funny stuff ;) ...did the pool guys tell you what you had done wrong??

  • May I suggest calling a proffesional, the seal is not the correct one for that pentair fixture and the seal goes around the glass only!!! no silicone, no caulking no lubricant!!!!

For $ 150.00 you would be back in business with the correct seal and no danger of electrocuting that cute little girl while you tried to save a buck.

  • Dad its colddd

  • take a look how easy this swimming pool light is to change

  • Thanks. I always wondered how that pool light would be changed, well maybe I still don't know. You are funny though. I am about to drain my pool for the first time. "The water is old". Isn't all water kinda old? Ohhh the pain.

  • we have been able to fix leak in light pool. the water is going through the wire and cone. we repaired it with water proof silicone. use caution when putting wire back into wall. hope this helps...

  • ok...i checked circuit breaker....power.....and went under water to see if i had a burned out bulb(as per U tube)....bulb had no apparent burned out looked....but i still think it is the bulb....wuts up?....good demo....gr8 facials......last option, pool guy...40 bucks an hour...75 buck min

  • lol going to attempt doing this also. thanks for the overview!
