guard the freedom of ideas at all costs. Be alert that dictators have always played on the natural human tendency to blame others and to oversimplify. And don't regard yourself as a guardian of freedom unless you respect and preserve the rights of people you disagree with to free, public, unhampered expression. ~Gerard K. O'Neill, 2081
Please excuse my twitching nose and the pauses between video segments. I'm going through some kind of allergic reaction now so my nose itches terribly and I have to make frequent pauses for water.
Edit: For those who claim Taqiyya/Ketman
I've finally done research into what 'taqiyya/takiya' means, now that three people (out of all the people commenting here) have mentioned it as a 'valid' argument point. From everything that I've read, Taqiyya is primarily to be used when and if your life is being threatened due to your religion, or to make dealing with others easier, and is never to be used if your silence (which is all taqiyya *is*) will lead people astray. As I just implied, Taqiyya doesn't mean you outright lie to someone, it means you don't show your religious beliefs at all. From these definitions, I *can't* be a Muslim observing Taqiyaa because 1) my life is certainly not being threatened, 2) If I was trying to maintain my silence, I wouldn't be wearing a headscarf of all things, 3) Lying is not acceptable within Islam, 4) Observing Taqiyya in this situation would be leading people astray (if I was a Muslim claiming to uphold Pagan beliefs at least), and thus is prohibited.
Claiming that I'm observing taqiyya (and ketman equally, saying that I'm paying 'lip service' to those in power when I'm actually claiming to be from a religion which has an even lower level acceptance than Islam seems a bit dense, as well, I maintain that my life is not being threatened) is a paranoid and borderline bigotted attack, not a valid argument (which explains why so few people have used it). Is it really so hard for you to conceive of a free-thinking Western woman who can appreciate the effects of modesty outside of a religious context? Who can show compassion towards a people and religion not her own? Are you really so blinded by your fear (which causes your anger) that you honestly think these things? Pagans and Wiccans have been showing compassion to other religions for decades now, and many Pagans and Wiccans besides myself are showing compassion to Musilms specifically on Youtube, I'm not alone in this. I'm sorry that you choose to limit your idea of who's human and who's not, but I won't be swayed by your prejudices.
