"Wheels of Soul is the only racially mixed 1% outlaw club in America. These bikers do not push drugs, terrorize small towns or lie in wait for little old ladies. Instead, they terrorize pushers, pimps and gang members who plague their inner city neighborhoods. The Wheels of Soul documentary allows the audience a voyeuristic glimpse into the lives of these private men and their families.

The members speak frankly on racism, the history of the club, the biker lifestyle, and the violent world of the outlaw biker. This brotherhood of men, who live by the creed "God Forgives, Wheels Don't" struggle to survive day by day on the mean streets of Philadelphia."

After being impressed with "Glory Road: The Legacy of the African-American Motorcyclist", I decided to take a look at more products from Guerrilla Docs. I ordered their documentaries on the Hessians MC and the Wheels of Soul.
Due to their presence as a mixed-race outlaw club, they are very outspoken about the racialism that can rear its head in the MC world. These men don't portray themselves as "nice guys". They aren't bullies, but they don't play the role of softie either. They are very clear that this urban outlaw biker lifestyle puts them at odds with "respectable society" as well as other breeds of outlaw. In one important sequence, we see a funeral procession to lay a rider to rest. Dozens of riders come out to pour libations, sign the casket, let off a few rounds, and send the rider on his homecoming.

Perhaps the most interesting factor of this group, is that they exist in the ghetto. They haven't removed themselves from the concrete jungle. Instead, they function as neighbors to both the nearby businesses and the local grime. They drop a lot of 1% gems on you, but from a perspective that you might never have heard before. And let it be known, these cats have some tough bikes. Take a close look at their custom choppers and you'll see that these dudes are the real deal.
