  • Thanks, no factory exhaust, it is Flowmaster.

  • I had a 68 convertible with the very rare factory dual exhaust--you can tell it's factory by the dual snorkel/air cleaner. That meant 365 hp instead of 350 but still not a "TNT" engine. Only 474 of these were made, last year for the Imperial convertible. I think it's great that it's in Germany!

  • Maybe the one and only (1968) in Germany.

The Imperial was up to 2000 in the USA (Pittsburgh), then till 2006 in Switzerland. There I have bought him in 2006.

  • Nice old big detroit metal! What county is this car in?

  • This car lives in North-Germany!

  • Is this a 440 or a 413?

  • 440 HP, 365 Horsepower

  • I can't think of the last time I heard a V8 that sounded that good. Is that the factory exhaust???

  • I was at an American Car show in Dubandorf in 1998 and 1999. I remember clearly seeing a gold 67 or 68 Imperial Convertible for sale. If I remember checking the car out closely, I had driven to the sow in my Buick. So there is at least another Gold Imperial Convertible in Europe.

  • i own a 68 imperial too ,, is´t gonna be a custom,, have anyone some pictures of a custom imperial 68??

  • all Imperial Convertibles came with dual exhaust

  • @spangelosf43 I see. heh heh, its funny, cause I posted the comment leading to this convo like half a year ago and thought Id never see it again.

  • @1979lincolncoupe -I can see them in the bumper. I'm not sure how to change them-either from behind the rear bumper or by removing the lenses from the bumper--if you have bulbs in there, they are either burnt out, removed, or that switch I mentioned in the gear shift is not functioning. IF you replace the lights and it still doesn't function, when placing the shift lever in reverse, have someone watch ( move the lever slowly from park to reverse and a little past reverse and they should work.

  • @spangelosf43 so it probably does have reverse lights? I figured considering its an american auto, and I could have sworn those two rectangles on the bumper were reverse lights

  • @1979lincolncoupe

Most likely the switch that activates the reverse lights in the transmission lever is bad. Mine was-pain the neck to replace.

  • Thanks a lot, friend. Could you post more vids about your wonderful Imperial?
