Have you ever wondered where good leaders come from- Jon of Arc, George Washington, Muhamid Ghandi. Whether an individual is born a leader or learns to develop the skills and abilities to become one is debatable. What it all boils down to are several key characteristics that help an individual naturally rise to a position of influence. Whether these qualities are natural or developed will be your decision. Lets take a closer look at them:

Seven Personal Qualities Found In A Good Leader:
The first characteristic is Integrity- it's at the core of every leader. Leaders are trusted by those around them. They are people that you know you can rely on. This type of character isn't something that you are just born with -it needs to be developed. Determine what motivates your actions- Do you want to suppress others around yourself or build them up?
The second characteristic is enthusiasm. Leaders just don't sit on the sidelines or grudgingly do their work- Their work is what excites them in life. That excitement and passion is genuine and it motivates others around them to want to do their best.
The third characteristic is confidence in your own abilities. People follow leaders because they know that they are doing. That kind of demeanor gives those that surround them confidence that in following this person- things will turn out. A confident demeanor will make others desire to follow them.
The fourth characteristic that leaders possess is that they are purposeful in their actions. In times of uncertainty a leaders' actions resonate calmness and they actions don't bring into question the stability of their role as a leader.
The Fifth Characteristic is that leaders are able to keep their cool when the right decision to make isn't always clear. They don't let uncertainty stop or hinder themselves
Sixth, Leaders keep their goals in mind. They have a vision and are determined to reach it. Distractions don't throw them off the path that they have set in place. They know where they want to be and they arrive there.

Probably the strongest characteristic of a leader is their commitment to excellence. Mediocre performance don't satisfy them. They know what others expect of them- and more importantly they know what they can expect from themselves. They both meet and exceed those expectations.

Some of these characteristics may come easier to some than to others- but you can become whatever you desire to be. Dream your dreams and make it them happen.
