  • @TheSillyOldDude lol your video is so true Gentlemen of honor do not flaunt it and they are usually good enough to know it without telling people.

People tell me my technical ability is freaky good.....im the guy who says yeah I can fix your Xbox / smartphone / LCD TV ......but i dont flaunt it.....I know i can do it I just dont want to do it for everyone lol.

  • If you are great at something (externally seen), and really love it, you will feel no reason to overspeak, brag about it. Usually when people put themselves out there like that, it is about them being insecure about their own skills and trying to justify it in some way. A perfectly sound, confident and happy person doing what he, she loves to do, has no reason whatsoever to do that, because they dont see it as a contest, as a need to show off their skills. They are happy doing what they love.

  • employer that he's good enought to be taken. That was weird I was "ok O_o" all the time...thought it's just vain, but then realized it's happening automatically (of course not in the case when - "so, what , I can speak fluent too" or "i've seen a language video of yours and, being a fluent speaker i would point out" hahha) which in my coutry is banned immediately as vanity and gains no respect at all

  • it may be a part of another culture as well..like self presentation as I don't know - job courtesy or anything....like greeting everyone in Japan doesn't mean anything as such..well they are of the different nature courtesies, here in US I was first surprised, when you've just met a person here and you both are mostly inclined to make friends (this happened to me and I couldn't understand) he's talking lots about himself and his achievements and plans, as if at the interview convincing the empl

  • "He who says does not do. He who does doesn't say" Being a non-english speaker, it took me a while to figure the meaning of this setence. But when I figured it out I was like "that's so true"

  • Yo all the ladys love me for my 1337 gameing skills. I My level 60 night elf warlock soloed deathing with 2752dps on epic heroic dificulty, just telling that tale makes the girls moist.

  • Good observation. I also like that you said "usually", as it is not always the case.

I, for example know someone who is a master at what he does, and is not afraid to say he is this good. He does not brag, he simply tells what he thinks about what he does when other people ask him. And those who have experienced what he does, have also says he is a master.

But it does seem that quite often masters of particular things like to be very humble.
