Firecrackers had been going off since about 4 p.m. when the shopkeepers closed up and chased away the bad spirits from last year before going home to their families. There were sporadic fireworks all evening, probably little boys saying "please, just one, right now." :) About 11:55 p.m. this barrage started and went on for 35-40 minutes, non-stop. Everything was pretty quiet by 1 a.m. so we did get a good night's sleep!!
