At the height of the protests following Iran's controversial presidential election this summer, a young woman named Neda Agha Soltan was shot and killed on the streets of Tehran. Her death -- filmed on a camera phone, then uploaded to the Web -- quickly became an international outrage, and Soltan became the face of a powerful movement that threatened the hard-line government's hold on power.
In A Death in Tehran, FRONTLINE revisits the events of last summer, shedding new light on Neda's life and death and the movement she helped inspire.

  • One thing makes me angry.....the world thinks that the iranians have started the fight against the Islamic Regime just by now but only a few know that the fight is many decades old !

My Uncle fought many years for the DPK-I against the islamic regime and he was hanged for his fight of freedom......still many brave Kurds are fighting against these damn Mullahs and nobody seems to care......

    MARG BAR REGIMI ISLAMI !!!

  • this is the best thing that has ever happened to Iran in the past 30 years, a grass root movement with no foreign interference, this is the road to freedom for Iran. I'm happy that US is not too supportive because it would just give the IRI one more excuse to blame it on the Wets and say that it is a coup from outside.... No honey this is the voice of the majority of the Iranian nation.... and you better fucking listen to it..

  • The regime felt they had a duty to kill her; not only because she was an opposition supporter, but also because she was a Christian. Sad that our media never even cared to mention it. MAY GOD AVENGE HER BLOOD!

  • I say shame on their ruling clerics. They don't want to give up their power. Why would they? They are living high on the hog and sticking it up the peoples you know what.

  • '

shame shame on iran president , secret police, ussr russia

  • @StolzerKurde, Marg bar Islam period, not just as a regime but as the cult that it truly been since the start of its pathetic existance.

  • Plenty of us care my friend. The west is too scared to intervene in cases like this. Look at the Islamic reaction to the west fighting terrorists in Afghanistan. We are accused of attacking Islam as a whole and many Muslims dont want us there. Islam has successfully brainwashed the Muslim world that the west is out to destory them. I dont think change can come from the west, its going to come from Muslim people standing up for their rights and challenging these radicals.

  • No it doesnt. i have seen this video on PBS and its still there. Try one more time.......

  • So bold and shameless! You seem very outraged that the world has been moved so much by this single instance of your brutality. I can see your destitude when you say people are shot to death every day! you've just come short of words you don't realize you're talking nonsense! This has got you very badly because after thirty years of all your tortures and killings you are facing an unprecedented outpour of global rage and crticism. This is a different world now and your demise is comming!

  • So you shoot with bulets because they through stones at you!!!!!
