The banjo player is Freddy Morgan. The tune the band is playing is, "Pass the Biscuits, Mirandy." The opening theme music to the movie (played by the studio orchestra) was written by Henry Mancini!

@livinintraffic I just came across this video. I knew Freddy Morgan the last years of his life. I still keep in touch with his widow, Carolyn and daughter Penny.... they now live in Miami, Florida. Your dad and this group of zany performers made us laugh and were also very talented musicians.

I wish my father could have seen this. he passed away last Oct. He would have been proud of this.97 years old!. At 1:36, he is the upper right musician playing the sax. Spike had my dad draw alot of cartoons for his creations and I think he generated the slides for this. I miss dad and speak with Spike Jones's daughter, Linda. I will tell her about your posting. I have small posters of this movie and If you want one, write my email address tell me where to send it. His name was Bernie Jones.

This was great! I tried to give it 5 stars, but the site wouldn't go above one. Thanks!
Didnt this have Abbott and Costello in it?

Abbott and Costello were suppose to be in it, but Costello got sick and were replaced by Buddy Hacket and Hugh O'Brien. I think that some of the long shots were done with Abbott and Costello, but I'm not sure if those scenes are actually in the film.
