Warriors Orochi 2 w/Cao Ren - SW 8 - Chaos Difficulty

No-pickup solo chaos run, recorded and edited by me. Enemies do less damage to you now compared to the pain they brought in WO, but their defense is about the same. Cao Ren's offensive efficiency is still noteworthy. He's back to sniper mode and better than ever.

This is mainly a maximization video intended to demonstrate the efficiency and self-sustainability of Cao Ren's -ex specials. For varied, combo-based Cao Ren Warriors Orochi 2 gameplay, refer to the PhoebusDionysos channel. tetsuo9999 has video of Cao Ren with Tenbu.

With this setup, C2-ex will one-shot typical generics. Boar guys and hyper generics should eat a C3-ex instead. C3-ex can theoretically one-shot anything, as demonstrated against Shin Orochi. Da Ji is usually an easy KO, but I misjudged the distance and fired too early. I haven't yet mastered the art of getting C3-ex to juggle high-defense boss critters every time. It seems to be a matter of proper distance and aiming off to one side so the boss critter in question will get whacked by two bullets from each round.

C2-ex is excellent at Absorbing back musou, thanks to that initial elemental buckler swing. Absorb activates on C3-ex as well. Because Cao Ren's -ex charges are so powerful, a healthy musou supply is far more important to his best offense than some other attack boosting element.

I'd also like to note that Cao Ren did well on high difficulty long before I maxed him, his weapon, or my ability set. Though his C3 only activates elements on the last round, it is strong by default and infrequently blocked. Until I could drain back musou efficiently, I just saved his -ex charges for special occasions. Stats are much more important in this game, and Cao Ren's naturally high defense really comes in handy.

And now for some crappy news. Cao Ren still suffers from the S string flinch bug that afflicted him in WO, along with Taishi Ci, Xing Cai, and Xu Zhu. (Those characters also seem to have retained the bug in MO:MS.) Watch closely at 2:50 as the initial C2-ex strike passes through a peon and the peon keeps on swinging. This wasn't a major issue for him in WO. It's even less of a problem now due to the explosive and ranged nature of his staple attacks and also because the Charge Bracer enchantment prevents him from getting hit out of the C2-ex. It still annoys me on principle because it is such a stupid shortcoming for a character to have. So I can mop the floor with an entire battlefield, but I can't even out-prioritize a peon. Chewbacca does not make sense.

@davidchen128 Thanks! This was an easy video to make. Ren is so stupidly broken, he practically plays himself. I agree - his C3-ex is superior to Kunoichi's C2-1 spam for crowds and officer pileups.

@BurritoHoe Use a DVD recorder or a capture device that takes audio/video output from the TV and plugs into your computer's USB port. If you record a DVD, you can rip it to video on your computer. I made my vids with a Dazzle (a USB device), with the music turned off in the game's option menu so I could add different music later on. Whatever method you choose, there are tutorials all over the place to help you out.

@RydainDarkstar Cao Ren's C2-EX kills faster than Kunoichi's C2-1, C2-1. Kunoichi needs rage to kill officers in one C2-1. For instance, Kunoichi spend time to get to red health. Cao Ren can kill many officers already in this time interval, so Cao Ren is a lot faster than Raged Kunoichi. People worship her is because of her invisibility.
