During a large march of around 50,000 students, organised by the National Union of Students (NUS), (protesting against tuition fees increases and the betrayal of Nick Glegg's promise not to increase them before the election), an angry break-away group of a few thousands congregate, surround AND occupy Conservative party HQ at 30 Millbank.
A more aggressive and violent group then smash windows, protesters then occupy the foyer, destroying furniture and computers. A number of protesters made it onto the roof where one dropped a fire extinguisher down, almost hitting police and protesters below. Some police officers used heavy handed baton charges.
14 people were injured (including police). There were around 50 arrests for criminal damage and trespass.
At first I thought "well, this was'nt a brilliant idea". But then again, who's making the cuts? The Tories. What better place to direct your protests to than their HQ? A pure occupation would have been a better idea then a trashing though.
Education should NOT be a privilige for the rich.

right to protest, bring out the water cannons; the coalition cannot say that they haven't seen the books.
