She got her gold medal 16 months after the Olympics. During the figures, the brazilian judge entered the wrong point value on the computer, told the referee (an american) who refused to correct it. Therefore, Kristen Babb-Sprague (an american) won the gold medal. The Olympic committee gave Sylvie her well-deserved medal in Montreal in 1993.

She is truly a magical swimmer
She swims like the water is holding her up, mid thigh and it looks like she's barely sculling!
She achieved the ultimate goal of making synchro look easy, even though you know she's working her ass off under there.
