Tall he stands and tall he sings, this Glen Campbell man...stands at home in the land of love and sings A heartache song for the world to remember."She just didn't know I would really go.."the death of love begins...his voice warm-gold as the Phoenix sun awakes the dawn of forgetting...catches the dusk-glow of A gentleness tenderly refrained. Here comes the voice of Glen Campbell...this poet-singer, this guitar-playing man.
(Some quotes taken from the back of Glen's first LP album,)

I have an old family atlas. It would seem that the songwriter must have driven the old US-60 highway. That must have been desolate back then, just like most of I-40 is today.

You can hear the Johnny Rivers "Poor Side of Town" era strings and arrangements on this period of JW-GC songs.

Just such aclassic pretty song with beautiful strings arrangment.

Certainly do like the shiny MOSRITE DOBRO guitar that Glen is using here. Hard to find those now. Glen endorsed Mosrite guitars before Ovation. Ovation are really great guitars as well.

A very talented entertainer!

Gee Whiz, I grew up singing his songs... long before he got with tanya ok. I still play his records at home sometimes. It's good music if you ask me. I will still listen to them because he sang about our generation.
