Healthy quails! Gosh the males are vocal huh? Reminds me of my males during mating season. They go all night long with that sound. HAHA

the males crow when they mature but make sure you have more females than males because he'll drive you insane with his mating call, if he has a selection of "ladies" he is less inclined to call.

Also (bad late reply), the male's have a rustic, pale orange chest. The females have a whiter, speckled chest.

if the bird sounds like this 1 then its a man but if its a quiet but high pitched sound its a girl
