  • safeway the most expensive food stores and poor service since the 80s.

  • Notice the gas mileage on that truck? 29 years of technological advancement, and you can't show me one today that gets the same mileage as the cheapest truck on the market back in 1981. Today's truck will have triple the horsepower, but......

  • These commercials show how much people still had inflation on the brain back then. Scary. LOL@That chik in the homemade "Rapid Rooter" shirt in the same script as my Little League uniforms. Those Moog synthesizers in the commercial were sick. You cud have stocked up those back then for about 3-4 grand, and buy a house with what you could sell them for now.

  • My God - I forgot about the 4 ton VCR with its top loading feature. $600? I think - as a kid - I 1st saw them going for a thousand. Now? $20 at a pawn shop. There are at least 3 stacked up in the garage.

  • I wonder if the Consumer electronics fair is still open. I want to check out the big screen tee vee and the micro computers

  • I hope I'm not too late for that 1980 Floors To Go Blowout Sale

  • Holy Shit $600 for a VCR!

  • Top loader!

  • RIP, Pete. Even here, from nearly 30 years ago, the writing and delivery are far above that of most local news operations across the country to this day.

  • Wasn't Pete Wilson Hired by ABC7 in 1983 to replace Jerry Jensen another Good San Francisco anchor.
