@trainmaster844 -This may not be the real reason but I think they swapped engines due to the "filming" locations. Because if you notice during the scenes of the REAL 28, they were filmed out on the Sierra Railway while in this scene it was filmed at the California State Railroad museum.
They probably switched engines so they wouldn't have had to truck 28 down to Sacramento and hoped the audience wouldn't notice.
that is a beautiful 4-4-0 locomotive,and passenger coach.

@Miserlou57 - Yes :) She and the REAL #28 (a 2-8-0) switched places during filming for some odd reason... (can anyone fill me in on this?)
