Enter the kitchen of Dorothy Hughes, a pie maker without peer. Her, baking is more than the simple mixing of ingredients. It is life and love and art. She's been selling her baked treats at the park in downtown Lake Mills off and on for 30 years. It all started when her daughter, Beatrice, sold jams and jellies at the Saturday market. One day, Beatrice needed to take her son to a ballgame, so Dorothy filled in for her. She loved it so much, she started bringing her own baked goods there to sell. The rest is history...
