In this exercise, the athlete drops the medicine ball and catches it 'stiff' in the low position of the good morning. This exercise is good for fast eccentric loading / stiffness enhancement of the postural musculature which is necessary for any sporting activity where the athlete must absorb impact forces (such as in the impact at ground contact in sprinting).
