I think they just did it so that you can distinguish the cars driving by in the background. :o

Once the guitar comes in, the sound of the cars kind of sounds like the ocean under the ringing of the guitar strings. :)

actually i first heard this song on the Macbeth Vegan shoe commercial and i had to know what it was

so i scowered the web in search. found it, and listened to their other songs. heard this as the first song 4 years ago and i listen to every album put out :) excellent band
