Air China -next morning, more chaos

CA991 from Beijing-Vancouver (July 2) was delayed again for more than 20 hours! The excuse was because of a volcano eruption somewhere on-route in Russia. However, Air Canada that takes the same route from Beijing-Vancouver went on time without any problem. The way Air China handled the incidence was totally incompetent. The passengers were only told to be taken to a hotel 6 hours past the departure time (at 9 pm). The hotel room and food was terrible. The next morning, the passengers need to wait at the airport for hours without getting exact instruction until finally boarded at around 10 am. The plane finally took off around 11 am, more than 20 hours past the original departure time. The whole proccess was totally chaotic. They sent their people totally unaware of what going on to talk to passengers, and there was no English translation for passengers whose native language was not chinese.

The take home messenge is that DO NOT TAKE AIR CHINA if you don't have to. Because when I googled the airline, they have had several such incidents in the past and they are known to be NOT ON TIME.

This video is a great example of how bad Air China is. I flew on 983 from PEK to LAX last Saturday. We were delayed 4 hours due to a problem in the front wheel hydraulic system. The Agent lied to everybody about the current status of the plane saying that it was fine and we could fly on it. The engineer then came out and said in front of everyone that the plane could not be flown. The ticket agent punched him in front of everyone for saying that! Air China is broken, just like the Chinese Gov't.

@lauraingrahamshow I think CA might not be the best one in mainland China, China Southern and Hainan Airline have better reputation. However, Hainan dosen't have too many international routes...
