Maybe because no one on the bears liked him because he held out. And people were trying to injure him in practice. Tell me this who you gonna run harder for? A team that doesnt like you and tries to hit you hard in practice, or a team that embraces you and blocks hard for you to get that extra yardage. Chicago is a bitch for not accepting benson which hurt the team in the process.

He was a top athlete in high school and also in college. He came into the leage Xtra big headed and was taken down a few notches. He came into Bears training camp fat and out of shape believing that he's supposed to be given the starting position(not earn but just given) He hit the pros he realized that things weren't as easy as he thought they would be.
He brought alot of that mess down upon himself and he admitted that in subsequent interviews
