Rosendo "Marty" Martinez on Cuba 11-18-09

Following today's release by Human Rights Watch of "New Castro, Same Cuba," a 123-page report about conditions on the island nation under Raúl Castro's government, I decided it appropriate to share excerpts of my recent interview with Rosendo "Marty" Martinez, a St. Louis-area man whose family fled Cuba soon after Fidel Castro seized power in 1959.

In this video, Martinez discusses how Cubans -- including members of his own family -- missed warning signs about the coming communist takeover. In addition, he warns about the methods Castro used to exert complete control over the Cuban people and how those methods are being used in the Unied States today. Finally, he admonishes Americans to wake up and recognize what they stand to lose if they don't stand up against socialists like President Barack Obama and his liberal Democrat cronies.
