Byrds founder Roger McGuinn rediscovers an old film he shot of The Byrds' trip to London in 1967. An unbelievable trippy film shot by one of Rock 'n' Roll's enduring masters. Go to http://growingbolder.com for the longer version (it's too long for Youtube).

  • Why did YouTube yank down the video for the original version?

  • Growing Bolder's video of Roger discussing the film, plus the film itself, is longer than 10 minutes, which is the max length that Youtube allows.

  • McGuinn has never received his due recognition...

I think this song should be required listening for newbie's BEFORE hearing 'Dark Side of the Moon'.

ps: ..and smile pilgrim when you say "Hippy"

    Thanks & Full 5's~

  • The evening of the day they landed in London, Crosby went by himself to EMI's Abbey Road studios where the Beatles were recording Sgt. Pepper. Too bad McGuinn didn't go too, and take his camera - the film would have been priceless.

  • Gene Clark lyrics with help from Brian Jones! Music by the band of course so it's a credited to all!

  • Gene Clark wrote this in Pittsburg Pa. Mc guinn and Crosby try to take credit but some of us know the truth. Maybe a few words, but by and large it was Gene Clark. None of the group had his talent, makes you wonder?

  • i love the dentist chair he's sitting in. HOT!!!

  • I interviewed John Peel in 2005. An excerpt:

    STEVE: Syd Barrett?

    JOHN: I never met him.

STEVE: You're kidding. All his best recordings are from Peel Sessions.

JOHN: But you would try to avoid meeting them. You didn't want to be disappointed. One time I hosted a concert with The Byrds, who were complete—and I don't use the word lightly, but please put it down—cunts. The most obnoxious people I've ever met in my life. They wouldn't speak. And when you spoke to them, it was as if you weren't there.

  • Dowwnload the audio from this song at tubepull doht cohm.

  • The sound and pilot patter at the beginning of the video was incorporated into "The Lear Jet Song" heard on The Byrds' "Fifth Dimension" album.

  • haha fuck the beatles, the byrds are the best thing ever

  • Youtube has software that scans the videos, and if it detects video that is copyright-protected, they may pull it down. I wish I'd gotten to see it myself.

  • the link doesen't work

can you send it to me by pm please?
