  • ARE YOU SERIOUS!

If you've ever worked with fiber you know what a HUGE pain in the behind it is to work with. It's gotten better over the years but its still very touchy (especially when terminating).

He's abusing that fiber line and it's FINE! I'm curious about its distance potential with that type of abuse, but still!

I'd run this fiber through the house for my VoD system. BlueRay image transfers over gigabit ethernet take forever but I could run at 10gb with this!

    HOW MUCH IS IT?

  • Anyone else notice the TV go blank @ 5:47?

  • The TV is going blank because there is a blank spot in the video they are looping.

When the signal goes bad it gives static, not a solid black screen.

  • @MrStantonP The TV goes blank more then once.

  • Interesting, when doing the comparison test of the 2nd test subject, after wrapping around the mandrel multiple time, he forgets to show the test against a hard 90' bend on the 2x4.

Just a mistake, or is that on purpose?

  • Fantastic.

  • okay, so I have some 2008 ClearCurve cable in my closet and what can I do with it now? Just is just replace copper? How do you know which size wire you need? How can I look up my wire? It's ClearCurve 5mm and I have two rolls of about 5000ft. What purposes does it have?

  • You give goofy scientist type guys the leeway to dream and fiddle around and you can get some amazing things.

As I understand, the three guys instrumental in this development did it on their "free time", that is time alloted by Corning for people to pursue their own objectives.

  • Wow, that's really amazing, no doubt why this corning guys are the leaders on innovation
