Video of Congressman Bill Pascrell Jr. (D-NJ) during his only August Recess 2009 in-person Town Hall Meeting. Pascrell brazenly claims that "The point of the matter is Barack Obama does not believe in socialized medicine." But on July 30, 2003, Obama said this: "I happen to be a proponent of a single-payer health care program... A single-payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And thats what Id like to see." Obama even admitted at the time that a gradual, Trojan horse approach might be necessary: "And as all of you know, we may not get there immediately." And here's Obama on March 24, 2007: "My commitment is to make sure that we have universal health care for all Americans... but I don't think we'll be able to eliminate employer coverage immediately. There's going to be potentially some transition process. I can envision a decade out or 15 years out or 20 years out." Pascrell should be ashamed for trying to play his constituents for fools.
