Drooping Eyelids & Mono Eyelids 101 Makeup School

Drooping eyelid

When an eyelid is described as Drooping or Droopy age is usually the culprit.
These eyelids are very similar to hooded except for the skin texture.

For an everyday look you want to put a light shade of a matte eyeshadow or a light eyeliner in a thick line behind the lash line
Blending it up slightly
Then place a very thin line of eyeliner behind the lashes this will make your eyelid really pop
Then apply mascara

Remember to shape your eyebrows
Fill your eyebrows in
Highlight your brow bone using a light color of concealer or a light eyeshadow

Mono eyelids
Mono lids are eyelids that have no clearly defined crease or eyelids
Mono lids are more of a flat eyelid
You can create the crease two ways with this eyelid type

The first step is to locate where your crease should be
Then apply a medium shade of eyeshadow along the crease area
Using a fluffy eyeshadow brush
Then use a smaller tighter eyeshadow brush or you could even use a Qtip for this next step
Take a dark eyeshadow and apply it in a thin line almost
Then when you blend your crease you will have created a shadowed crease

If you have no folds of skin in the corner of your eye
Apply a medium shade of eyeshadow on your inner crease area
Then a thin line of the darker shade you use on your outer crease
Leave the center of your crease open
Then highlight the tear duct area and brow bone
Apply a medium shade of eyeshadow on your bottom eyelid
Blend your eyeshadow

Use a thin line of eyeliner on top and bottom
White or flesh tone eyeliner in the bottom waterline

Keep your eyeshadow light bright and no darker then a medium deep shade
If you use black eyeliner use it only in a thin line

  • Camille,I think you are one of the best beauty guru's! Because,Your so dedicated to making videos and really good at it too!You are down to earth and not all fake and stuff (: Thanks for being awesome! <3

  • @SharonShimmers I just totally love you! Thank you so much! xoxoxo

  • I'm in my early 50's and a MUA at a counter told me I shouldn't wear shimmery shadows because of my hooded eyelids, this left me so confused because I love Mac's pigments and have almost 50 of them, was she correct? Anyway, I still wear them.

  • @lilyseymour technically someone in there 50's has a more mature eyelid and the shimmer highlights that! Now my Mom is in her 60's and can wear shimmer and frost eyeshadows! It depends on the individual! also if the shimmer is accentuating a textured eyelid put a matte eyeshadow on top of it it will cut down the shimmer.

Just like with all makeup there are no rules just different ideas! ;-)
