This commercial is one of my favourites. I think it's because of the music that's going with this commercial. Sounds really 'groovy' and really brings you bank to the '70s.

From the DVD 'Legend on wheels'. Wanna have this DVD packed with 2 hours of high quality digitally remastered old vw commercials? The DVD really brings you back to the '60s and '70s. Send an email to: beetlejuice150@hotmail.com

  • Where is the computer located? We had a grey box that was a part of the fuel injection system but we had to disconnect the box as my bug isn't fuel injected anymore, was that the computer aswell? We had to remove it because it'd make the engine shut down at random times.

  • There is no computer in the car. In the moror compartment is a socket, where you make a connection to the computer which is at the dealer.

  • Was the computer connection available on European market VWs as well?

  • I thought so! Also european models had the socket in the engine compartiment.

  • the computer can be seen in another commercial featuring edwin aldrin from the apollo XI.

  • @bugguy1967 i have 73 muhaha

  • This video is a favorite on Vietnam

  • is there any way to get it tested these days?

  • At the time, I was annoyed because my '71 Beetle just missed out on this computer business by one year.

  • THE FUTURE IS NOW 72 OWNERS!

  • No it was a "passive" system, there were simply extra wires hooked up to many items in the car, all going back to a big multiconnector in the engine bay. You hooked up that connector to the shop computer tool to do the tests.

  • does it work with obd II?

  • I can hardly wait for those computers to be ready. Hope the wait wont be too much longer.
