Hey I have a problem with my normal maps: they reflect edges of my low poly model. So I have not smooth areas but quads all around:/ Nice tut but please stop playing with zoom its terribly annoying!

@d123s404 Ya i got it workin. This is much different then the bumpmaping i was doing. I was basically just taking a texture, then making a negative color version, and puting them on top of each other... But now u showed mehow to do it right :) Thank u

when i bake the normal map, its very low quality, can you tell me how to make it better?
Hazan12345 4 weeks ago
@Hazan12345 The normal map is simply an image which behaves and has the properties of normal images, so it's quality depends on the image's quality. When you create the image, the default quality should be 1024x1024. The larger the image, the higher res the normal map is. :)

If you think it's bad, just know I changed it on my newer tutorials. ;)

when I go into texture mode in GLSL it doesn't show the texture. it just shows the cube as bright orange. do you know why this is happening?

@the5benners I actually never faced this before. Make sure you didn't color the cube bright orange. Beyond that I'm not sure. Maybe you should go back and make sure that the texture is applied correctly.
