Between the years 2001 and 2002 a Gremlins game was being developed in France by LSP (Light and Shadow Productions) for the PS2 and Gamecube consoles. It was cancelled and only a few screenshots were made available. This video shows a 3D model of Gizmo made by graphic artist Thierry Bansront produced for the game or its CG intro.

  • Just a heads up, I posted this on Gremlins Online, and would love to discuss any more info you may have on this early Gremlins model or any others as well.

  • @Jypsy I found the videos on the author's site some years ago. It was some kind of online portfolio where he showed his works. There were some more videos of the skeleton/wired model but I didn't save them. When I tried to download them later, the entire site was gone.

  • I think that its possible to do something like that on ps2/gc, as its going to be the only model like it.

The resolution can be cut by 4 (subdivision/mip-map LOD ratio) and likely equate 3-5k, with fur making it 4-6k. 2-5k is you're average ps2/gc model resolution count.

  • @qobol This is most likely from a different project or early concept work, since it does not appear in the opening cutscene, and is a completely different model style than is used in the game's cutscenes and in-game assets. I will be converting the gremlins ps2 intro video so it will function on youtube. I'll keep you posted.

  • I wonder if that model was for prerendered scenes... that's way to high a quality to be used anywhere else D:

  • Someone needs to get back on the computer and finish completin' the whole thing. Would've been better than Gears of War 3. :p

  • This could have been a great game.

  • That actually looks pretty good for PS2 graphics

  • They should try to revive this project with a new company at the helms. I mean if Ghostbusters for the Xbox 360 and PS3 was a good success, then this would be great as well.

  • @tawny123g no. real.

  • fake of course
