Song in some ways a more powerful form of expressing our inner thoughts than speech. Rebbe Nachman of Breslev encourages us 2 sing many Zemirot, especialy on Shabbat. Singing mitigates decrees (LM 1 42). Through Song & Joy one can guard & preserve one's memory and will come 2 bear in mind the World 2 come (LM 1 54:12) etc...

It is very true that song expresses a deeper level of soul than speech. That is part of its mystical power.
