that's the richest coffe i've never tried... congratulations colombia!
-
@pbanta62, I think it's just the tape warbling a little bit.
-
Sounds like the musicians were hittin' the Tequilla...
-
Juan Valdez!
-
Did they really had to mention "Americans"?
-
A little more on the commercials - the ads were commissioned by the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia in the '50s. The ad agency was Doyle Dane Bernbach. This looks like its from the "educational campaign" to inform consumers what makes Colombian coffee distinct.

Yeah, misheard it then ^.^
In any case, looking at Juan's country, I'm willing to bet he's getting fucked anyhow.

Hopefully Juan bags many pounds of coffee per day, not just one. The coffee tree is said to give 2000 beans after five years to mature, but there are a lot of coffee trees there.
-
Coffee beans look like red grapes.
The narrator is Norman Rose, who had been the voice of the Juan Valdez campaign from the beginning (originally using a straight announcer's voice but gradually adding a distinct Latin accent to match the product and the spokescharacter). Several actors have appeared on-camera as Juan Valdez, have to do some further checking to pin down who was in this one (it looks like probably late 80s, early 90s vintage?)

Nicely Done. I will add the info to the keywords. Also a big thanks for all your work. I just noticed you left a bunch of comments. Thanks again for adding to the archive.

It's spelled "Colombian," not "Columbian."
