  • I think SOME kids learn better from experiences than just time outs and such. You don't know that something is dangerous or hurts until u feel the consequences. I touched a stove when it was on and it burnt so now i don't touch a stove while hot. I know some kids who turn timeout into a game for attention. I'm glad my mom spanked me. As long as its not abusive and the child is learning what is right and wrong i think a parent should choose discipline based on the child's personality.

  • @whoaporsha That is your opinion, I personally hate the fact that I was spanked and I think it did nothing but make me angry and have more discipline problems. Every child is different though.

  • No spanking PLZ !!!

  • @Arleonete Everyone does things differently in their household.

  • Im glad you made this I wanted to ask your opinion but I did not want to be one of those nosey people. I dont plan on spanking but you never know. I am trying to learn other people's methods that work for them so maybe I can apply them for my daughter. My mom is old school and she is a total advocate for spare the rod spoil the child. She thinks I am stupid for wanting to find alternative methods.

  • @bellareina05 You discipline YOUR children however YOU want to. I can't stress that enough. That's why I make these videos, to help others so ask as many questions as you would like.

  • Great response! I agree with your points. At their age, redirection works best. My daughter is currently in a hitting phase (21 months old). I can put her in time out all day long for hitting, but you can be sure that she will start back hitting once she forgets about "time out". It is hard but we are trying to teach her that hands are not for hitting, they are for hugging. She doesn't hit her stuff animals anymore but sometimes hits others. Slowly it is getting better but consistency is key.

  • @StarSince1987 yea i don't plan on spanking my kids but if it comes down to it... i don't see anything wrong with it as long as i try other alternatives and seldom use. I hate when some people immediately start to whoopin when the child is misbehaving but i also cant stand seein somebody elses kids disrespecting their parents and the parents just beg the child and that's just ridiculous to me.

  • @BEadifullyYOUnique We use A LOT of redirection in our household. My 1 year old is in a hitting phase and it's terrible. We're working with her though.

  • @Kinkycurlycoil Thank you.

  • @missladygray I'm glad something is working. I wish I was one of those parents who got lucky and their child never needed to be discilplined, but since I'm not I have to fnd ways to teach them right from wrong.

  • @IzZbooicu Thank you.

  • @MondoBeno That is your opinion, everyone is entitled to it.
