Electric cars aren't totally carbon free. To make electric cars, they require between 4 and 18 times the water than internal combustioan engines do, plus all of the toxic chemicals it takes to make them. To me, they're just a waste. I love Ford, but to me, all vehical manufactures should get out of the electric car business.

Whoopeepidygreewashingdoo Ford. You plan on making 10K Ford Focus Electrics per year, wow. Nissan will be producing that many 100% electric Nissan Leafs every 7 days in Smyrna, TN by the end of this year.
That's ok, I applaud your efforts, but my new 2011 Nissan Leaf looks fantastic in my garage next to my 2000 Ford Ranger EV NiMH. 58K miles on my Ranger and still going. (after charger failures, water pump failures, inverver failures, multiple wheel bearing failures, all fixed by me.)

Where does that Electric that powers that car come from? A power plant that has to boost production to compensate.. So instead of a car bumping gasses out and using Resources, the Powerplants must now use more and more fuel and produce more and more pollution..
SOUNDS GREAT!
Oh and where do those batteries go after they're of no use? mhmm thats what i thought.
