A short excerpt from a presentation given by Shiekh Usama Abdul Ghani illustrating three things that make Shias strong and united, but also subsequently are targeted for marginalization by the opponents of Ahlul-Bayt (as).

1. Support for Imam Hossein (a) and his ultimate sacrifice at Kerbala for all of humanity.
2. Allegiance to the Imam of our time Imam Mohammad al-Mehdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance).
3. The system of maraja (religious scholars and figures with whom we give our religious and political support). The word of God is indeed transmitted, clarified, and communicated through representatives whom Allah has chosen, transmitted by the Holy Prophet (s), maintained by his Ahlul-Bayt (a), and then defended by their representatives and followers. This is all that it means and this is indeed one of the most basic principles of Islamic tawheed. Do not misinterpret the statements. The truth is clear for those who reflect. :)

StaghfurAllah this guy doesn't know what he is talking about. Ahlus Sunnah love Sayedna Hussein too. I do not understand how Imam Mahdi appeared and then disappeared & will be reappearing again soon. Allah's words are now so easily transmitted to humans that live in our world today ?!! Shia's are dangerous.. yes because they are dividing the ummah & disgracing the deen including the ahlul bayt. Hold on there lil man. Allah can permit this just as Prophet Nuh (a) lived for a thousand years or how Prophet Isa (a) was born a virgin birth. How come this is so difficult to believe?

The Shia are the only ones uniting this ummah back to the true principles of the Prophet and his household, and taking it away from emperors, kings, tyrants, and opportunists that have plagued the Muslim world and denied the true velayat of Ahlul Bayt (a).
