@30secfisherman Get a Daiwa pixy... can casts 1/16 oz and up on the right rod... baitcasting reels run circles over spinning reels. The only time I use a spinning reel is when I'm doing a vertical presentation like tubes, or a finesse technique like dropshotting / splitshotting.

Spinning rod/reel the most versatile? lol false, that would be baitcaster, but only for those of us who know how to use one properly...

did you get a beginners pack of fly gear? because you have a cheap rod, reel, and line.

My mistake! So forgive my ignorance.
I failed to notice that these were 30 second clips. Sometimes my mouth jumps ahead before I think.

uh, did you miss the point? There is no fly fishing in 30 seconds.

I can abuse my Shimano combo with anything from 1/8 oz up to 3oz lure/sinker -- with nothing more than a change at my snap swivel.(Try that with a baitcast reel!) Both your baitcast rod and reel come with "slot" limits that really shouldn't be messed with. A beginner is far less likely per cast to have as many bird's nests with a spin reel as a baitcast.

What? He pushes the fly rod aside and says "I'm not even going there"
Out of all the rods he had sitting there.. that's the one that you need to talk about the most!
