Actually, you can play EQ2 fine on about $600 worth of hardware. That's what I spent on mine and it runs it phenominally at this detail.

I found the music distracting when I just wanted to watch the footage. Might not be true for others, but I couldn't figure out what the song had to do with the game.

I built this PC for less than 1k - of that the most expensive parts were the motherboard (EVGA 780i) and processor (Core2Duo 3.16) -- the video card was about $180 (9800GT) and the RAM (4GB G-skill) was only $60.
