Local brewer, Keroche Breweries has launched its second beer brand; the Summit Malt. The launch of the beer comes one year and 2 months since Keroche Breweries entered the brewing industry. The Summit Malt is set to spur competition in the category of premium beer brands in Kenya. Chief among the guests who represented the government at the launch event was the assistant minister for Finance, Dr. Oburu Odinga and Assistant Minister for Industrialisation, Ndiritu Mureithi. At the launch, Keroche Breweries Chief Executive Officer, Tabitha Karanja called for a review of the monopoly law in Kenya in order to level the competition for indigenous products.
Like bashjamaa said - EABL is a foreign company. So good ol' Tusker is not my beer my country - Its more thier Beer your country. Mr. Jeremiah G. Kiereini is just another home guard manning his masters post. He has done this throughout his life. He (Jeremiah) is on record for torturing fellow kenyans("mau mau") during the you know what.

exactly. i believe if you are to indulge in some stats you will find that generally that's true. i know many people over that age bracket who drink like crazy & unajua "illegal" brew plays a big role especially in the "lower class" citizens who btw make up majority of the population.

dont be too quick to generalise. There are many people who are able to enjoy their drink without problems. Others especially 18-21 year olds however abuse the same, and this is the group that should be the focus through restriction of sale of alcohol.

I gave her props for being able to start and run the company.
I am disappointed that a significant number of kenyans see no good when someone does something great...they always greet it with contempt and/or scepticism.
Lets support our people...the more the jobs the less reason people have to turn to crime and illegal activities.

the law is clear on issues such as dangerous driving. Its simple, if you drink dont drive. Beer is supposed to be enjoyed not abused. As I said if you cannot handle alcohol let others who can do so. My friend even from a Christian perspective its not a sin to partake alcohol, its drunkeness, in other words abuse that is a concern.

u r only saying that because in the clip it was shown them toasting a beer...now that she is speaking on behalf of a Kenyan beer company your envy creeps in. .We should support our own firms and not those foreign companies. Tuskers, pilsners, guiness etc are all foreign brands.
