@Voime09 Actually that part is fine; it's the fast bit that's the hardest in this piece. In my opinion, obviously.

@JustSomeRandomNewb Playing the piano is not only about metod of moving of fingers - music has to have the expression. And expression everytime depends on what is in player's head. So I also think, that nobody can play it better than Rachmaninov because he is the author of this piece and he has in his head the whole of this piece - also with thinks that he could not write into the sheet - with his emotions, with happening that inspired him to this pieces. And this all is in the expression.

@961chopin Lots of people. As I said, Rachmaninov himself said he thought other people played it better. Personally, i even feel I play it better than he does, but, well, don't we all :d

I've seen some comments about the audio quality being too good for the 1900's - you're right! Rachmaninov recorded this into a player-piano reel, which preserves all of his keystrokes, pedaling, tempos and dynamics. It is then put through a player-piano today, and the recording engineers sit back and let Sergei's ghost do all the work.

Thank you for posting this, to think of the story behind the music whilst you listen to Rachmaninov himself play it himself; scary, creepy, wonderful.
