  • Hi Dez, what is sifu's name and where does he teach? thanks so much.

  • I love this guy! He was a groomsmen in my wedding! yay SIFU!

  • shifuuuuu!!! teach me....

  • @xxdjcharlierockxx to help you out, your teacher probly has you doin it that way because grabbin someones wrists is very easy to get out of and pointless in a real fight and uses the method of no thumb to have faster reaction to whatever is commin their way, it changes speed in mila secs, but helps none the less. one of the main points in training and fighting is know what you alone are capible of, and you will find your own path in wing tsun. =)

  • I'm not all that much into martial arts, but I can understand what he is teaching. Very logical and lots of common sense.

  • @MegaSmud . In Wing Chun, Huen sau becomes crucial if you intercept an opponents punch, and then use it to get to the other side to clear a new line of attack. See, Grandmaster Ip Man used to teach that each technique has it's usage, but depending on the individual, some strategies would work better than others. For example where I can find Huen Sau effective in a fight, perhaps you can't. That's okay because the WIng Chun system allows for personalization. This is why practice is crucial.

  • Hm... but if you both have pressure you both get hit.

  • Good instruction but brush up on the pronunciation. I had trouble understanding what technique you are referring to when you said "hoon sau" and "pack sau". Only after watching you demo it that I realized you meant "huen sau" and "pak sau". In Wing Chun there is a hand technique called "peck sau" or "pack sau" which is a striking technique, literally meaning "splitting hands".

  • very nice instruction, good video. i noticed you fully grip your opponent with your lop sao...meaning you use your thumb. i was taught not to use the thumb. any thoughts on that? anyway nice video not many pay attention to huen sao from what i have seen on youtube.
