So it looks like the oozes despawn after being kited for a while is that correct?

They used to bug out sometimes and despawn, it was fixed in the first week together with the hp-nerf. We did the achievement last week and it is a lot easier now with the reduced hp even though they don't despawn.

The idea is to merge two big oozes.. correct? Did you merge them after they both have consumed 4 or just 2?

Yes we did merge two big oozes and we just let them merge when they both had consumed 2 small ones. This way we only needed 1 kiter.
