Kate Burch is a retired clinical psychologist and aspiring fiber artist. She is married, and a mother and proud grandmother. Kate and her husband and two cats live in Oakwood.

Kates career in mental health taught her much about the harm done to families and our institutions by the ever-increasing size and cost of government: the need for both parents to work in most families, leaving children in the care of strangers; the rewarding of failure and punishing of hard work and productivity and resulting loss of self-confidence and pride. She has also long been distressed by observing our loss of industries and jobs through high taxes and excessive regulation; and the growth of a corrupt political elite.

Since retiring three years ago, Kate has become more active in promoting policies and laws that she believes will help our country, such as the FairTax.

  • I personally do see some flaws in fair tax, I have not read the book. I posted the video just as a showing of what happened. She actually had little time of the tea parties which I am glad to see.

  • We need a new tax code -- absolutely.

But "Fairtax" isn't it. Fairtax is a farce, a fraud that fooled a lot of stupid gullible people.

Fairtax pretends to be able to get about half of the revenue for the government, by taxing the government.

Yes-- its THAT much of a fraud.

Read page 148 the Fairtax book for eg - "The federal government itself will become a MAJOR taxpayer"

Also -- they tax all state and local government on all their spending.

    Google Fairtax absurdity and learn

  • What is your plan?

  • My plan? To not pretend you can make the government pay itself almost half of it's own revenue, like Fairtax pretends, for one thing.

Stay away from absurdity and deception..

I would tax all income alike -- treat income as "income" -- instead of taxing work 300% higher than anything else, as we do now.

However tax work -- fine. Just tax all income that same way.

  • I can see your point and I agree. I did not post the video because I agree but because this is what happened.

  • NavyBeer, FinestViewproduction, and

12Flyme would benefit from knowing something about the FairTax.

  • Great plan NavyBeer. Read, study and learn! There may be hope for you yet.

  • Fairtax is a study in psychololgy of delusion. The uncritical belief in this farce is astonishing -- and says a lot more about the gullibility of people starved for easy answers and a free lunch.

Real studies have shown a national sales tax rate would have to be 60% to replace all other taxes.

Fairtax claims their "reearch" shows you can tax government to get most tax revenue.

Funny how "only people pay taxes" -- but then Fairtax claims the government will be the biggest taxpayer.
