love the music in this production also love the pictures of KARLOFF with no make-up from the 30's..in reality, when BORIS KARLOFF, was doing "SCAREFACE" in 1931 he was also being filmed for "FRANKENSTEIN"..breaks in shooting for "SCAREFACE" he would shoot over to UNIVERSAL for "FRANKENSTEIN". that is a fact. also BORIS KARLOFF, was 44 when he shot "FRANKENSTEIN".

Thanks for the tribute to Boris. Big fan here. Quite a distinguished actor who kept on reinventing himself for screen and stage and later TV and radio.

Beautiful & moving tribute.

Hey,Basil, have you thought about doing videos of other classic horror stars like Lionel Atwill, George Zucco and my favorite actor, Peter Cushing?

Great tribute to a great actor. I love this haunting score. His transformations from role to role were incredible!

There's one Karloff movie not on YouTube...
"The Devil Commands".
REALLY odd movie where his character gets
involved in a totally-strange experiment
to connect brainwaves to the "other side"
and pulls in a vortex of supernatural
forces (one can SEE the vortex enacted.)

He had been in dozens of silent movies playing myriad roles for years. By the time he starred in Frankenstein he was 41 years old. That's the starting point for most people who don't know his past. Before he made it he drove a truck for extra money. Great actor. Great perseverance.
Hi Baz, In 1932 Boris Karloff was memorably gunned down ia a bowling alley in the original version of scarface, before his terror days as "Frankenstein".
Known in real life as a very kind gentleman who gave generously especially to children's charities. Nice tribute to a nice man.

He will always be best remembered for the role
of Frankenstein" wich set him on a path of dramatic terror from then on, Boris Karloff
had a face well suited for dark mysterious roles. Yes he is the God father of "TERROR
and rigthly so.
Gripping photos
