Richard M Stallman gets his doctorate hat

Richard M Stallman was promoted in 1996 (in his absence) an honorary doctor at the royal institute of technology(KTH), Stockholm, Sweden : "Richard M Stallman, 57, educated at Harvard in the USA and simultaneously making pioneering work at AI - artificial intelligence -laboratory at MIT. He has dedicated his life to realize his idea about Free Software - that the best software should be free for all. Several of the more important computer programs that are run at KTH are written by Stallman or are derived from the Free Software Foundation. Stallman gave a revered and highly esteemed lecture at KTH in 1986. He is a legend and a paragon for a whole generation of fascinated computer enthusiasts. Stallman has proven that computer scientific brilliancy can coexist with devotion to morals and social responsibility."
