Hi, this is my first footage test using my new second hand Sony VX2000 and just filming some random situation of my girlfriend organizing some papers.

I used a The wide mode, automatic settings in the camara, automatic focus, the imported into final cut:
The sequence configuration was:
25p 720x576 CCIR / DV PAL (5:4), field dominance Lower (Even)
Quicktime video Settings
Compressor: MPEG-4 Video
Audio: 48khz - 16-bit

And the capture settings where:
Device control: FireWire PAL
Capture/Input: DV PAL 48 Khz Anamorphic

Then some color correction and that was it, something quick and without stopping in minor details.

Cheers!

  • Hi

I´m thinking of buying this camera since i found a very good price online. I cant afford a new model prosumer camera. My question is, is this a good buy even though it is a quite old camera or am i better off buying a consumer cam (like a sony HD handycam or something like that) ?

    Thnks in advance :-)

  • @BloodyInc It depends of what are you going to do. I mean this is a old camera. Edition is painful sometimes since you still recording on tape. It has not HD and the 16:9 mode is has a know problem in the edges of the video. HOWEVER.... it is a prosumer camera with all its benefits. The audio quality is amazing, the controls are not bad at all, the lens is actually very good, and the video quality in standard mode is amazing if use the right setup when editing the video. Is it the tool you need?

  • are you just color correcting?

  • @trilobite3339 Hei. I think so, I made this video a while ago, but I remember that I wanted to get a "film look", so followed some tutorial for FCP here on youtube.

    Best!

  • Weird Video

  • @mmunera Thanks man :)

  • @bennie628: The camera has an internal mic (pretty good quality actually) but it doesn't have any light. Best!

  • @reddie74

I will check with my camera and I'll be back to you to see if I have the same problem, Oki?

    Best!

  • @mmunera : no... on fresh grabbed and non compressed material, i have am weaker "line" effect, more strong on the top.. on the bottom its hardly to see... after compressing, it looks exactly the same like your videos..

  • @reddie74 Hey!

I think it could be the actual decoder... Check if you get the same when reproducing the video directly from the camera...

    Best!
