They are a beautiful display of good hard work! Love seeing that! Another idea is to put some carpet remnants in front of even those lower shelves (not sure what your floor is there).
Such an encouraging thing to see and love that you're sharing! Thank you!

we felt that earthquake here it was crazy. i thought it was either our washer because that's off balance when the spin cycle is going but then I realized I had no laundry going at that time, then I thought it was a Truck coming down the hill because some of the heaver loaded ones can make our trailer shake. Then when I saw the news on Facebook I was shocked that that's what happened.

I feel that I have been being pushed to do more too, and I would like to ask you, how many canning jars do you feel are necessary for your storage? How long are you storing for? and have you ever used Tattler canning jar lids? I have them, but have not used them yet and wondered if you have any experience with them. Thank you, Sheila

Laurie- we have a similar block and board shelf system set up and what I'm doing to keep jars from sliding off shelves is using box lids or cutting boxes down to have a 2 or 3 inch lip and setting the jars in them on my shelves. Might go one step further and put rubber shelf lining under them so they never slide. You can get plenty of empty boxes w a lip from grocery aisles that the food is gone from. I do it all the time - store is happy to give them away. Super cheap and easy!

I live in VA too about 15 miles from Mineral and did loose a half dozen jars of this season's canning. It could have been worse, as I was about ready to start double stacking them, I've now changed my mind on that since the eq and plan to strap them to the shelf, just haven't figured out what i'm going to use yet. Lookin good thanks for sharing.
