  • I saw these guys at The Liverpool Empire in the mid 70's they were truly great.Totally unknown over here in Canada though, like so many great Brit bands!

  • We did chart in US and Canada 79 and toured. Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver etc. Song called 'Run Home Girl'. No 1 in Seattle would you believe! Great times.

  • Wow that's wicked. When I saw your band play in Liverpool the drummer was using a Fibes kit, sounded great. Was that you?.

And the keysman had an old Elka string machine type keyboard I think,I was impressed with the power and atmosphere.

    Cheers mate,this is cool

    I'm a drummer too actually.

  • Yep I'm the Fibes man. That was a cool kit - wish I still had it. Cheers on the comments m8. You play drums full time?

  • hey Dave, thanks for getting back.I used to play full time over here in Canada(was born in Cheshire).I play on weekends now.

    What do you play now?

  • Kit? Have a Tama Starclassic Performer and assorted Zildjians.

  • @stew398 Yup, I was at those three two - think we also went somewhere else - Bolton or Oldham. I remember my friend getting thrown out as she jumped on the stage and kissed Paul Young!! It was brill!!

  • I first saw Sad Cafe at Belle Vue and later at the Davenport and Apollo where the live album was recorded - can't believe it's not been released on CD as I'm sure there are many like me who've almost worn out the vinyl copy!

  • @beagleheadfred I did too. What a great show. :)

  • Amazing Guitar player!!

  • Someone, somewhere must have the recording of Sad Caff doing this on Granada, when Paul wore that floppy hat,

Come on Dave, you can find it I'm sure, even though you weren't in the band then.

  • That's right JRB! The band didn't sell out, the audience just changed. Us rockers were still there.
