Yes, the X51 is costly and now redundant if you buy a face lift car that has a bit more power but without the cost. Nevertheless, the X51 keeps your factory warranty intact and there should not be any longevity issues either.

Actually, X50 is for the 996 Turbo only. The X51 is the code of the option for both the 996 Carrera and the 997 Carrera S, also called Carrera Powerkit. I have it on my 997 S. Both of you were wrong. Sorry! :-)

Point taken. Evolution Motorsports makes a nice kit but the only problem is he wants to be able to have his car serviced by the dealership. They might service it if it was just an exhaust upgrade but a supercharger is a whole different story.

It really is a waste of money because it costs $23,000 CAD or $17,000 USD and all it does is adds 26 hp to the Carrera S and 4S and Targa 4S from 355 hp to 381 hp $23,000 for 26 hp ??? I think its better to spend like $5,000 on an aftermarket supercharger kit that adds like 150 hp rather than just 26
