To prevent my video from being blocked, I had to disable the audio track. The sound you hear is just some default youtube audio track. It's really unfortunate that youtube is blocking my audio (just due to some background music) because you can't hear the people talking now. Copyright can be so ridiculous sometimes.

I had to give up skydiving in late 2000 due to poor health, but I logged just over 100 jumps in the 16 months I was jumping between August 1999 and late 2000.

To any skydiving "pros" that may be watching this video, I am fully aware how sloppy my 44th jump was. I was still learning how to control my body in the sky ... so I was "sliding" all over the place and even kicked the poor camera guy in the head. Luckily he was wearing a helmet.

And for the highly observant, you'll notice that I had a momentary lapse as to which side of my rig my pilot chute was on. I reached right, then left, then right again. That actually created a dangerous situation for me. It caused my body to tilt forward, so when I did deploy the pilot chute, you'll see that my feet came within an inch or two of the main lines. If you carefully pause/play/pause/play/pause/play around the 3:47 to 3:50 mark, you can see what I'm talking about. If my feet had caught those main lines ... wow - I don't even want to think about it.

When we watched the replay back at the hangar, I got scolded pretty good by the seasoned jumpers. Bottom line, I was too inexperienced to be jumping with a camera guy. I was so preoccupied with the camera that I wasn't concentrating on the jump.

Fortunately I got lucky and nothing bad happened. Unfortunately though, that was the only jump I ever got of myself in free fall. But I got a cool exit shot on my 69th jump! Two thumbs up, can you see the thrill and excitement on my face!? :) I can't believe 10 years have already gone by since my last jump. My how time flies.
