This is the first part of a full ballet class on Utube. I thought that people should have a change to learn to do dance steeps on Utube. This is part one the first thing we do in class. I teach you your feet and arm posistions breafly and then teach you Plea combonation. This can be put to music and done first with the right leg away from the barr or what ever you are using as a barr and then with the left. Left hand starts on the barr then right. Just follow along and after you pick and chose the little things I leave up to you try it out. You also can put it to some kind of music that is what is done most of the time in class. Part 2 comming up. (P.S. I didn't put music on here for copy right.)

  • My sister and I enjoyed your lesson! It was very helpful. :)

    We have some questions though;

    1. Are the positions of 3rd, 4th, and 5th absolute in that it MUST be the left foot in front of the right, or is it reversable?

    2. When doing a plie for 3rd, 4th, and 5th position, are your feet supposed to stay flat on the floor? I keep wanting to have my right (back) foot go on my toe when I do a plie in those positions. Is that acceptable or do I need to train myself to keep them flat?

    Thanks!

  • No your right foot can be in front. it's just where you feet are that make it the position. The rule is if the right hand is on the barr the left is in front and if left hand on the bar right in front. Unless your teachers or the corographer says other wise. Your feet should remain flat on the floor when you do demi- plie for grand you may lift them off in all but second position. It's to stretch the tendon on your ankle. You do need to keep them flat. That back foot is the hard one.
